<p>A curious kiwi investigated a man on Stewart Island, New Zealand, coming close enough to give the "intruder"’s boot a little poke with its nose before scurrying away, as seen in this video taken in May.</p><p>Nathan Moore was on a hunting trip in South Tikotatahi when he was fortunate enough to encounter a female kiwi in broad daylight. Administrators of the Stewart Island Kiwi Facebook page said</a> Moore displayed “perfect kiwi watching etiquette” by standing quietly while the bird foraged for snacks.</p><p>A Rakiura National Park representative said hunters helped protect kiwis on the island by eliminating predators, Stuff reported</a>.</p><p>The video had been viewed nearly 270,000 times on Facebook at time of writing. “It’s actually amazing how much joy it’s brought to so many people,” Moore said.
