Towering flames and huge plumes of smoke burst into the night sky as Glasgow School of Art burns. <br /><br />Sirens blare in the background as the emergency services travel to tackle the disaster. <br /><br />"Firefighters are working hard to extinguish the well-developed fire that has taken hold of the Mackintosh building in the Glasgow School of Art," tweeted the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. <br /><br />Nearby buildings have been evacuated, reported the BBC. <br /><br />"There is a fire at the Mackintosh Building. The fire brigade are currently on scene," tweeted Glasgow School of Art. <br /><br />The footage was shot overnight between Friday and Saturday.
