According to BuzzFeed News, about 2,000 children have been separated from their families along the border.<br />An official with the Department of Homeland Security added that Border Patrol agents also detained about 2,000 adults who were accompanying the children.<br />The DHS official stated that border authorities have separated a total of 1,995 kids from<br />1,940 adults between April 19th and May 31st. <br />
