Commodity prices fall on fears of U.S.-China trade war

Trade tensions between the U.S. and China are starting to affect global commodity prices... as concerns of an economic slowdown looms and trade volumes dwindle.<br /> Data compiled by Bloomberg show three-month copper futures on the London Metal Exchange... fell by more than two percent from the previous day to close at around 7-thousand-20 U.S. dollars per ton.<br />Copper is the most commonly used metal in China.<br />Prices of other metals including aluminum and white gold have also fallen.<br />July West Texas Intermediate crude also fell by nearly three-percent at the New York Mercantile Exchange to trade at around 65 dollars a barrel.<br />The price of U.S. soybeans, China's biggest American grain import, also fell more than 2 percent from the previous day, closing at just over 9 dollars a bushel. <br />
