<p>Flash flooding ripped apart roadways and sidewalks in Houghton, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, on Sunday, June 17.</p><p>Images from Agate Street, which runs downhill through Houghton towards the Keweenaw Waterway, showed the road entirely washed out.</p><p>The National Weather Service said</a> law enforcement in Houghton County reported “historic flood damage” resulting from four to eight inches of rain, and warned that thunderstorms could bring more flash flooding to the area.</p><p>The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced multiple road closures in Houghton County and nearby areas.
