South Korea's Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and the Coast Guard will stage regular maritime drills from today.... with the aim of better safeguarding the country's easternmost islets of Dokdo.<br /> The two-day defense drill will mobilize six warships,... including a 32-hundred ton destroyer,... and seven aircraft.<br />The South Korean military first launched the Dokdo drills in 1986.<br />Since 2003,.. it has conducted the drills twice a year to strengthen its ability to keep foreign invaders at bay.<br />The drills come amid Japan's persistent false territorial claims to the East Sea islets. <br />
