Born in Jamaica, Lowell Hawthorne started his inspiring career in business at age 10 and worked as a bus driver until he moved to America at 21 -- “the kind of place that embraces immigrants." Once here, Lowell decided to bring a bit of Caribbean cuisine to the Bronx by opening Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery in 1989. Now, Lowell owns and operates 120 franchises alongside his family, showing inspiration and passion for the American dream--as well as contributing a new beloved taste in the US, Jamaican Patties.
