Bodies Recovered as More Than 180 Reported Missing in Lake Toba Ferry Sinking

<p>Indonesian search and rescue teams recovered three bodies on Wednesday, June 20, from the site on Lake Toba, in North Sumatra, where a ferry sank on Monday.</p><p>The bodies, all of women, were found on Wednesday morning, CNN Indonesia reported</a>.</p><p>This video shows workers transferring one of the bodies into an ambulance.</p><p>Hours after the ferry KM Sinar Bangun capsized on June 18, one body was found</a>. Bad weather and strong currents have hindered the search.</p><p>A total of 18 people were rescued during the sinking, but 178 people were reported missing, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of the National Disaster Management Agency, told journalists via WhatsApp.</p><p>Because there was no passenger list, the number of the missing people was based on reports from families, Sutopo said.</p><p>BBC Indonesia later cited a source saying that figure could reach 192.</p><p>The government initially estimated between 70 and 130 people were on board at the time of the incident.
