Japan's efforts to get on North Korea's good side don't seem to be working out so well.<br />North Korea's official newspaper, the Rodong Shinmun.... brought up Japan's responsibility for its wrongdoings during its colonial rule.<br /> The paper said.... that relations between North Korea and Japan remain sour because of Tokyo's reluctance to settle its past wrongdoings.<br />It added that.... Japan cannot hide or be free from its past,... and said, it should acknowledge its wrongdoings and provide compensation.<br /> The North Korean report comes just a day after the Japanese government announced that it's halting all evacuation drills following the North's pledge to denuclearize.<br />Japan is the only one of North Korea's neighbors yet to hold summit talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. <br />
