It may be no surprise to some, but South Korea has been ranked the world's most connected society.<br />According to U.S.-based Pew Research Center,... the country's internet penetration rate -- measured by internet use or smartphone ownership -- stood at 96 percent.<br />That puts South Korea at the top of the list among the 37 countries surveyed.<br />It was followed by the Netherlands and Australia... both at 93 percent.<br />And though the digital divide between advanced and developing countries persists,... it's a different story when it comes to social media use.<br />Jordan topped that list at 75 percent,... followed by Lebanon at 72 percent.<br />South Korea came tied third place with 69 percent. <br />
