육군, UAE 파병 아크부대 14진 환송식, 워리어 플랫폼 공개<br /><br /> The army held a ceremony to send off a special warfare team to the United Arab Emirates where they'll replace another group of soldiers serving there.<br /> Hundreds attended the event,... including Army Chief of Staff, General Kim Yong-woo,... plus the hundred-25 soldiers deployed to the Akh Unit,... and their family members.<br />"Akh" means brother in Arabic.<br />South Korea has been sending special forces to the UAE since 2011,... as a means of enhancing bilateral military cooperation.<br /> During the ceremony,... the troops showcased Seoul's new so-called "warrior platform," comprised of 18 types of the latest combat supplies and gear,... including new uniform, bulletproof helmet and vest, along with personal arms.<br />The army plans to equip soldiers serving domestically with this latest tech as well,... starting with some battalions later this year. <br />
