South Korea has been offering assistance to help other countries around the world develop.<br />The latest recipient of the government's official aid program is Vietnam, a country looking for ways to improve its energy efficiency.<br />Kan Hyeong-woo has more. <br /> <br /> As a part of South Korea's Official Development Assistance plan, the Korea International Cooperation Agency and Korea Energy Agency invited officials from Vietnam to attend a workshop on energy efficiency.<br /><br /> As one of the fastest developing countries in Southeast Asia, Vietnam struggles to meet its energy demands.<br /><br /> The workshop looked at how to promote energy efficiency in industrial sectors for future investment. <br /> <br />"South Korea has established the policy and legislation structures needed to encourage Korean firms to save energy. On top of that, Seoul has a solid energy management system and an efficient energy data analysis center."<br /><br /> The Vietnamese officials also visited a number of energy conservation projects and had the chance to see how South Korea is trying to maximize its energy efficiency. <br /><br /> The Korea Energy Agency plans to continue working closely with Vietnamese officials in the future.<br /> <br />"Before the end of 2019, we plan to send some of our experts to Vietnam to help promote investment models for energy efficiency in Vietnamese industry." <br /><br /> After completing the workshop, the officials will return to Vietnam to implement what they've learned from the experience.<br />Kan Hyeong-woo, Arirang News. <br />
