<br /> <p>A four-year-old boy, who was left alone by his parents at home, was rescued after a half-hour ordeal of dangling through the security grille of a fifth-floor balcony in Taiwan’s Pingtung City on Saturday, June 23.</p><p>Home alone, the boy went to the balcony of his apartment, but his legs slipped through the gap between the metal bars, Taiwan News reported</a>. He was prevented from plunging to his death because his head was caught between the bars.</p><p>Neighbors saw the boy at around 11:15 am and called the police.</p><p>This video shows a rescuer rappelling down to reach the boy from the floor above.</p><p>A ladder truck</a> was deployed to assist the rescue.</p><p>According to</a> a doctor, the child suffered only minor injuries to his head and ears.
