Joe Jackson, the father and manager to music legends, Michael and Janet Jackson and the Jackson 5, has died at the age of 89.<br /> He was reported to have died on Wednesday in a hospital in Las Vegas, where he was being treated for terminal pancreatic cancer.<br />Jackson was a key part in his children's early successes, but internal strife within the family became more apparent as time went on, especially after Michael's solo career. <br />Joe Jackson was criticized for beating his children and various estrangements and court battles over money were on full display to the public.<br />He is survived by his wife Katherine and nine of his 11 children. <br />
