A family organised a party for their 78-year-old grandmother to celebrate her graduation from middle school.<br /><br />The footage, captured at a home in California on June 18, shows the 78-year-old woman wearing a black gown and an academic cap as she sits surrounded by all her relatives in the family garage.<br /><br />A relative reads the woman’s diploma and tells her to move the cap’s tassel to the left.<br /><br />The elder woman then flips the tassel and throws the cap into the air as the whole room erupts with joy.<br /><br />The filmer later wrote online: ‘’After getting married at 16, my grandma was too poor to get an education. <br /><br />‘’After my grandpa passed, she decided to go back to school and at 78 yrs old she has officially graduated from middle school in Mexico.<br /><br />‘’We had a graduation ceremony in our garage, complete with changing of the tassel, and the throwing of the cap. <br /><br />‘’She is an inspiration to all of her grandchildren.’’
