Business Insider reports that Ed Sheeran is facing a $100 million lawsuit.<br />The suit alleges he copied Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" for his 2014 song "Thinking Out Loud."<br />Sheeran was also sued in 2016 over the same song by the family of Ed Townsend.<br />Townsend is a cowriter of "Let's Get It On."<br />In documents obtained by the media last week Sheeran responded to the 2016 lawsuit.<br />Sheeran claims similar elements in "Let's Get It On" are in the public domain and unprotectable. <br />
