The English seaside town of Cleethorpes on Saturday attempted to break the world record for the number of sandcastles built in one hour.<br /><br />A video showed hundreds of castles on the beach, although there was no .immediate confirmation of whether the record had been broken.<br /><br />The current record stands at 2,230.<br /><br />In 2016 Haven in Devon attempted to break the record but fell short.<br /><br />A team in Australia also had a go earlier this year on the Gold Coast but again failed to hit the mark.
