Occurred on June 4, 2018 / Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa<br /><br />Info from Licensor: "This enormous Nile Monitor Lizard (Varanus niloticus) managed to find itself in a storm water drain. Some plumbers had put a camera down into the pipe to look for a blockage, and this is how they discovered the lurking reptile! <br />These magnificent lizards, unfortunately, are often killed for food or traditional medicine, and some people on scene were keen to kill it. So I just had to get it out of there!"
