Another victim of Japan's wartime sexual slavery, one of the so-called "comfort women," has died, bringing the number of victims in Korea still living... to 27.<br /> The Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan... says Kim Bok-deuk passed away on Sunday at the age of 101.<br />When she was 22, she went to the Philippines with hopes of securing a job at a factory but was instead taken to a brothel for the Japanese military.<br />Kim was a plaintiff in a 2016 Supreme Court case involving the 2015 agreement between Korea and Japan on settling the issue.<br />She argued that the deal infringes on the basic human rights of survivors and that it goes against a 2011 ruling by exempting Japan from having to pay compensation. <br />
