Rare footage of lava bubbling in the hollow of a tree in Hawaii.<br /><br />The clip, filmed May 31, shows the hollowed-out tree stump filled will hot molten lava in a rare phenomenon known as a lava tree.<br /><br />“This is considered a lava tree and there aren't many video examples of these active volcanic phenomena. <br /><br />“The ground beneath this hole was still incredibly hot, with flames continuing to spout out of it well past the time when the active flow was visible. <br /><br />“Though this is not a traditional standing lava tree, it is still considered as such,” writes the filmer.
