Korea's household net capital posts record-low Q1 figure

1분기 가계 여유자금, 역대 두 번째로 작아… 집 사느라 팍팍<br /><br /> Korean households don't have as much capital as they used to.<br />Mainly because they were focused on buying homes.<br /> According to the nation's central bank, households' net capital, or their assets minus loans, was about 17 billion U.S. dollars... in the Q1.<br />That figure is half a billion more than the previous quarter,... but it's the second lowest figure for the first quarter since statistics were first compiled in 2009.<br />Experts attribute the plunge to people aggressively exhausting their capital to buy real estate.<br />The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said around 200 thousand homes changed hands in the first three months of the year, the highest first-quarter figure since 2009. <br />
