Members of a tribe in Indonesia throw ritual offerings such as fruit, flowers, and even livestock into a live volcano. <br /><br />Footage captured on July 1 at Mount Bromo, East Java, shows how the Tengger tribe cast items into the smoking crater in the annual occurrence. <br /><br />In the video, other people who are not members of the small ethnic group catch the offerings before they are lost to the smoky volcano.<br /><br />The ritual forms part of the ancient month-long Yadnya Kasada festival.<br /><br />Thousands now attend the event, with tourists scaling the mountains in order to launch coins into the crater.
