A kayaker had an incredible encounter with a large basking shark off the coast of the Isle of Man on June 1.<br /><br />“The dorsal fin was the first thing I spotted,” the filmer said. “The shark then turned and started to swim towards my kayak!”<br /><br />“It was only as the shark swam under the kayak I could appreciate how big it was — 7 metres long!” the filmer added.<br /><br />“The shark continued to feed on plankton as it circled my kayak, and it stayed with me for an exceptionally long period of time,” the filmer said.
