Motorists in New York city honk their horns at groups of people standing in the middle of the road to capture the "Manhattanhenge" phenomenon. <br /><br />Footage filmed on July 12 shows large groups of people taking selfies in the middle of pedestrian crossings despite traffic lights being green for cars.<br /><br />The sight occurs twice a year when the sunset – and in winter, sunrise – aligns with Manhattan's famous gridlike street system.<br /><br />It is named after the ancient British stone structure of Stonehenge.<br /><br />The filmer writes: "[I] was amazed at everyone standing in the middle of the road when the light cycle turned green for the motor vehicles."
