Baltimore Food Market Reopens Following Rat Sighting

<br /> <p>Baltimore’s Lexington Market reopened</a> on Saturday, July 14, after a video of a rat scurrying over cakes and cookies at Buttercup Bakery went viral, prompting a temporary closure.</p><p>Milton Mitchell, who works at the nearby Celebrity Cuts Barber Shop</a>, told Fox Baltimore</a> that he filmed the incident while he was visiting the market to buy cookies for his wife.</p><p>Lexington Market said in a statement</a> that it would close temporarily to assess the situation. In a subsequent statement</a>, the management team announced that the market would reopen Saturday morning and the entire premises would continue to be treated.</p><p>The Baltimore Sun reported</a> that city health officials who closed the Buttercup bakery stall after the incident also discovered a fly infestation at Berger’s Bakery nearby and also closed that stall.
