Girl Scouts Can Now <br />Earn Badges in <br />STEM-Related Fields STEM-related fields include <br />science, technology, <br />engineering and mathematics. The Girl Scouts <br />are rolling out 30 new badges <br />in these disciplines for girls ages 5 to 18. The news of the badges was announced <br />in November 2017 in an effort to <br />reduce the gender gap in those fields. The badges will require efforts in the areas of cybersecurity, robotics, computer science, <br />space exploration and the environment. The Boy Scouts announced <br />in October of 2017 that they would <br />start accepting girls into their ranks.
