Waxwork tribute to hero diver killed in Thai cave

This beautiful waxwork is a tribute to the hero diver killed while helping to rescue 12 Thai boys and their football coach trapped in a cave.<br /><br />Former Navy Seal Saman Gunan, 38, volunteered to help retrieve the Wild Boars team stranded in the Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand.<br /><br />But he died on July 6 after losing consciousness on his way out of the underground complex where he had been delivering air tanks.<br /> <br />Locals in Nakhon Ratchasima province helped to produce the stunning orange wax works float and figure of Saman Gunan which will form part of a festival procession on July 27 and 28 as part.<br /><br />Organiser Watchara Nadee said: ''We will remember the courage of Saman Gunan, the hero of the cave rescue who lost his life. We will mourn for him and give thanks for his bravery.''<br /><br />The figure of Petty Officer Gunan stands 150cm and shows him smiling in his beloved diving suit with goggles around his neck.
