Reservoirs across the UK are starting to dry out as a heatwave and lack of rainfall continues to affect much of the country.<br /><br />Footage captured on July 8 in the Elan Valley in Wales shows how the water level has receded dramatically, leaving the earth cracked and dry.<br /><br />What is believed to be the country's longest heatwave since 1976 means some areas of the UK will face hosepipe bans from August. <br /><br />Up to 3.2m properties in north-east England will be affected by the decision by United Utilities.
