<br /> A new shark species has been discovered.<br />The Squalus clarkae, otherwise known as Genie’s dogfish, is a newly identified species of deepwater shark.<br />It was named in honor of pioneer marine biologist Eugenie Clark.<br />Eugenie Clark died in 2015 at the age of 92.<br />She founded the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, Florida.<br />Clark discovered several new species of fish and conducted important research into shark behavior. <br />
