<p>Anti-corruption protesters marched</a> through the streets of Lima on July 19 following the resignation of Peru’s supreme court president, Duberli Rodriguez.</p><p>Rodriguez’s resignation follows the release of audio</a> in which he is heard suggesting judicial influence could be paid for.</p><p>The president of the National Council of the Magistrates, Orlando Velasquez, also resigned.</p><p>This video shows riot police and anti-corruption demonstrators facing off on Avenida Nicolas de Pierola in Lima. A water cannon is used by police to drench the protesters. The crowds demonstrating are heard chanting, “Peru, te quiero, por eso te defiendo,” which translates as “Peru, I love you, for this reason I defend you.”</p><p>A female protester is seen passionately chanting through a megaphone while a baby is tied to her on a sling.
