Unless Sinclair pulls the plug, its proposed deal with Tribune Media will be scrutinized by an independent judge.<br />The FCC has referred the case to its lone administrative law judge for an evidentiary hearing.<br />According to Broadcasting Cable, that could take upwards of a year.<br />Sinclair reportedly made a last-ditch effort to delay the hearing, but the FCC wasn't having it.<br />Critics claim Sinclair was trying to skirt FCC rules and may have lied in its proposal. <br />
