라오스 댐 붕괴로 다수 사망•수백명 실종<br /><br /> Over in Laos.<br />Lives are lost and at least a hundred people are missing after a hydro-electric power dam is destroyed.<br /> According to the country's official news agency, the structure in Attapeu province collapsed Monday evening,… releasing five billion cubic meters of water into a residential area. <br />Houses are swept away, leaving more than 66-hundred people homeless.<br />The dam was scheduled to begin operating this year.<br />It was built by a joint venture led by South Korean companies including SK E&C. <br />The government is currently carrying out rescue and search operations with the full range of available personnel, including soldiers, police, and firefighters. <br />
