According to Reuters, wind whipping around the coastal Greek village of Mati is partially responsible for devastating wildfires that killed at least 80 people.<br />The union head for fire brigade employees in Greece said the fire became a blowtorch aimed at the village after winds suddenly shifted.<br />Surrounded by pine forests, that sudden shift in the winds left residents with 20 minutes to escape.<br />Hundreds of residents fled to the sea, seeking refuge from the fires in the water. <br />
