Buses and pedestrians battle through flood waters after heavy downpours turned a road into a raging river south of Manila. <br /><br />The potentially deadly scene unfolded in the Philippines province of Cavite on July 22. The region was placed under a state of calamity because of heavy monsoon rains, storms and tropical depressions, which have swept across the country over the last two weeks.<br /><br />The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Cavite province had been the worst affected in terms of the number of people displaced. <br /><br />More than 8,000 people were being housed in evacuation centres.
