<p>Large waves struck</a> tourist beaches in Bali on July 25, flooding hotels, holiday villas and streets of resort towns.</p><p>The waves, which reports said</a> were the biggest swells in years and reached up to 20 feet in height in some areas, hit Bali’s southern shores, including Kuta, Sanur, Legian, Gianyar and Nusa Dua.</p><p>The popular Kuta Beach, where swells reached 13 feet, was temporarily closed on July 25 and swimming was prohibited, local media reports said</a>.</p><p>Ferry services between Bali Island and Nusa Penida, and also between Bali and Gili Islands, in Lombok, were suspended</a>.</p><p>This video, shared on July 25, shows large waves flooding Kuta Beach and knocking down a drink vendor’s stall.</p><p>The high swells reaching 20 feet have affected the southern coast of Java to Nusa Tenggara, said</a> an official at the Denpasar office of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency.
