McDonald's Salads Connected to Over 120 More Illnesses in <br />the U.S. U.S. health officials have reported an additional 123 cases of Cyclospora infections linked to <br />McDonald's salads. According to the CDC, the total number of illnesses from this outbreak is <br />now 286. So far, at least 11 of the sick individuals have been hospitalized. The Cyclospora parasite causes intestinal illness in someone who consumed contaminated food <br />or water. Symptoms can begin a week or more after consuming the parasite. The illness can last a few days to a few months and can be treated with antibiotics. The parasite has been reported in at least 15 states.
