President Trump declared a state of emergency for California on Saturday.<br />The declaration came as the Carr Fire ravaged the city of Redding in Northern California.<br />Business Insider reports the fire has destroyed over 500 structures, and 5,000 more are threatened.<br />Around 37,000 people remain under evacuation orders. Only 5% of the blaze is contained.<br />The declaration authorizes the DHS and FEMA to coordinate disaster recovery efforts. <br />
