<p>Police officers in Bloomfield, Connecticut, rushed to the aid of people trying to escape a burning home on July 31, as seen in this bodycam footage.</p><p>The video shows people being helped to climb down a ladder from a window from which smoke is billowing. Rescuers bring in another ladder to help a person perched on the roof get down safely.</p><p>The Bloomfield Police Department said both on- and off-duty police officers responded, along with firefighters and members of the community, and helped get four residents of the house and their dog out.</p><p>“With the support of these heroes, two of these people were rescued from the second story of the home,” police said.
