Thousands of fish have washed up dead in a reservoir in northern China due to the heat and drought.<br /><br />Video filmed in Shenyang City in Liaoning Province on July 30 shows thousands of dead fish in Huanzidong Reservoir.<br /><br />It has seen no rain since spring and at its maximum water level is only 10 centimetres.<br /><br />Temperatures have reached 42 degrees Celsius but the fish in the reservoir are only able to survive in water that is below 38C. As a result, 25 tons of fish have perished, according to local media.<br /><br />The reservoir management office had netted and buried the dead fish in an attempt to stave off disease, local reports said.
