독립유공자 중 여성 2%... 올해 202명 추가 발굴<br /><br /> South Korea has posthumously recognized 2-hundred and-2 women as patriots who fought for the country's independence from Japanese imperial rule.<br /> This is the result of a four month-long government-funded research by the Korea History Cultural Center.<br />Twenty-six of the women have been added to the list of people to be honored next week on National Liberation Day.<br />Most of the women were involved in independence activism here in home soil, while many others worked for the country's liberation abroad.<br />Currently, women make up just 2 percent of the 14-thousand-830 activists whose efforts have been recognized by the government.<br />The group says more female patriots should be recognized, as the independence movement would not have been possible without their support . <br />
