<p>Heavy rain swamped Toronto on August 7, flooding parts of the city and leaving thousands without power.</p><p>Toronto Hydro</a> said 16,000 customers were left without power after an outage at one of their transmission stations.</p><p>Toronto police tweeted</a> about several flooding rescue operations they conducted Tuesday night. In one incident, an officer swam to a flooded elevator with a crowbar to save two men stuck in the elevator, where water levels had reached six-feet high, police said the men only had a one-foot air pocket when they were rescued.</p><p>This video shows a stream of floodwater at the entranceway to Toronto’s Union Station.
