A bakery in Des Moines, Iowa, made an unusual creation: An edible pie intended to represent the face of notorious serial killer Ed Gein, who inspired the character of Jame Gumb in the book and movie, Silence of the Lambs.

The video, uploaded to Facebook on August 7, shows all the gory details of the baked dish, including weeping eyes, gnarly hair, and numerous pastry-shaped scars.

Baker Andrew Fuller told Storyful the pie was inspired by Gein, known as The Butcher of Plainfield, who made himself clothing out of human skins and body parts. While the mint-cherry-flavored pie took Fuller an hour to make, he told Storyful he got “caught up in the details,” which took him several hours. Credit: Andrew Fuller via Storyful
