For the first time ever,... Korea Post has successfully test delivered mail to a mountainous region using an autonomous drone.<br /> The drone delivered five kilograms of mail to Byeolmaro observatory in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do Province. <br />It only took six minutes to fly the 2-point-3 kilometers from the local post office to the observatory.<br />The same trip takes more than 30 minutes by road.<br /> Flying a drone in mountainous areas requires a delicate flight technique.... due to the rough terrain and geographical features like trees and valleys. <br />Korea Post says... it aims to further foster related technology to commercialize drone mail delivery by 2022. <br />
