Argentina’s senate has narrowly rejected a bill to legalise abortion with 38 senators voting against it and 31 in favour.<br /><br />The footage captured yesterday (August 8) moments before the release of the votes shows a crowd of pro-choice supporters demonstrating outside the Argentinian Congress in Buenos Aires.<br /><br />The defeat of the bill means lawmakers will have to wait until the next year to resubmit the proposal.<br /><br />Currently, abortion is allowed in Argentina only in cases of rape, or if the mother's health is in danger.
