Flash floods have hit the south of France following an ongoing thunderstorm on August 9.<br /><br />A river is shown to have burst its banks, causing water to flow down the streets in the Departement of Gard. <br /><br />The department, in the region of Occitanie, is on high alert as flooding has devastated the area. <br /><br />Locals and tourists are at risk and there have been evacuation and relief efforts.<br /><br />The filmer writes: "Large amounts of rain have led to flash floods, trapping some motorists on the roads." <br /><br />The weather has since calmed but the thousands of homes are thought to have been damaged.
