<br /> <p>Footage of a carriage horse near Central Park in New York City has gone viral for all the wrong reasons, after it was shared online on August 6.</p><p>Animal rights organization NYCLASS</a> shared the video to its Instagram account, which shows the horse — who appears to be overheated — breathing abnormally and in obvious distress.</p><p>“There was a heat advisory in effect yesterday issued by the National Weather Service —it’s a DISGRACE that city agencies overseeing the horses allowed drivers to force horses to work in dangerous heat for hours,” NYCLASS wrote alongside the video.</p><p>The post also urges New York residents to complain to their local councilman about the poor conditions the horses are made to work in.</p><p>A version of the video shared to Facebook</a> had over 6,000 views at the time of writing.
