The unprecedented heatwave this summer has caused the price of seafood to soar -- for some products by almost half.<br /> Suyeop Noryangjin Fisheries has released data on the price of local seafood coming into the Noryangjin Fish Market in the first week of August. <br />The price of mackerel was 1 dollar and 50 cents a kilogram -- around forty percent higher than the same period last year.<br />A kilogram of squid was 3 dollars, up thirty percent.<br />The heatwave has caused a spike in water temperatures around the Korean Peninsula, resulting in lower yields for fishing boats. <br />
