Flash floods slammed towns across central and northeastern Pennsylvania on August 13, turning roads into rivers and causing widespread structural damage.<br /><br />In Tremont, one of the hardest hit boroughs, rescuers picked up people in rafts and rescued passengers in cars trapped on flooded roads.<br /><br />This video, filmed by Tremont resident Theresa Becher, shows cars almost completely submerged by the floodwaters.<br /><br />Heavy rains wreaked havoc across Pennsylvania that day, closing down a busy interstate and flooding houses. Authorities said the latest downpours followed weeks of a stalled weather pattern that is drawing moisture from the Atlantic Ocean, hitting some communities repeatedly.
