Dozens of people have been injured when two separate 5.0 magnitude earthquakes shook southwest China's Yunnan Province in the early hours of Monday and Tuesday, according to local authorities.<br /><br />According to the China Earthquake Networks Centre, the epicentre of the latest quake, with a depth of 6 km, was monitored in Sijie Township, Tonghai County, at 3:50 a.m. on Tuesday.<br /><br />The previous earthquake hit the township at 1:44 a.m. on Monday.<br /><br />Up to 70,000 residents were affected by the two quakes, according to officials.<br /><br />More than 33,000 residents have been evacuated from the affected areas, local media reported.<br /><br />The quakes also damaged more than 8,000 homes.
