LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday nominated party’s MPA-elect Hamza Shehbaz Sharif as Punjab Chief Minister candidate, ARY News reported.<br /><br />According to a statement issued after a party meeting, the PML-N’s Punjab MPAs-elect unanimously named Hamza Shehbaz Sharif as their candidate for Punjab CM slot and Iqbal Gujjar as Punjab Assembly Speaker.<br /><br />The first session of newly elected Punjab Assembly will be held on Wednesday wherein the newly elected MPAs will take oath.<br /><br />Elections for the slots of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly will take place on Thursday.<br /><br />It is pertinent to note here that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which claims to hold majority in the provincial assembly, has still not announced its candidate.<br /><br />PTI has so far only nominated Dost Muhammad Mazari for the post of Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
